Lack of education is a big problem in India. So many children in our country miss out on educational opportunities for the lack of financial ability to pay for a good education. In order to help such children secure their future, SREI Foundation has started various funds, to give them the gift of education.
As part of the SREI Foundation’s efforts to support schools teaching Sanskrit, St James School in London received funding to illustrate the new Sanskrit textbooks, develop a teachers’ training program, and build a website for all schools teaching Sanskrit.
Furthermore, SREI has established the SREI India Scholarship Fund that was started jointly with Boston University in which USD 50,000 has been generously gifted to enable talented students from around the world to benefit from the education offered there.
In partnership with various social organisations, the Foundation has helped meritorious but financially disadvantaged students pursue higher education. In addition, the Srei Foundation has provided financial assistance to 48 students through various educational institutions. Aside from social upliftment in the community, it sponsored 100 students at the Ramakrishna Mission to receive an education.
An aid package was distributed to a school for the blind in Kulti as well as a higher secondary girls’ school in the vicinity for maintenance, furniture, and water filtration. Three schools received monthly grants: A.C Institution Higher Secondary School, Sodepur Colliery High School and Shibpore Workshop Free Primary School.
Srei Foundation offers Kedarnath-Bhagirathi Devi Scholarship Schemes for underprivileged and socio-economically challenged students, making them ready for the professional world and helping them to get better opportunities both in the academic and professional fields and to lead a life of accomplishment.
